Doing OK

Charles Monnett has been one of the leading voices in the claim that "global warming" is causing increased polar bear drownings, in particular this paper here. But, as CBS News reports:

A federal wildlife biologist whose observation in 2004 of presumably drowned polar bears in the Arctic helped to galvanize the global warming movement has been placed on administrative leave and is being investigated for scientific misconduct, possibly over the veracity of that article.

Charles Monnett is an Anchorage-based scientist with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.

He has not been informed by the inspector general's office of any charges or questions related to the scientific integrity of his work, according to Jeff Ruch, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.

Monnett was told July 18 that he was being put on leave, pending results of an investigation into "integrity issues." (source)

H/t to Luboš Motl who has more here. His conclusion:

"It seems increasingly likely that the research backing the global warming doctrine is corrupt at every conceivable level."

Some environmentalists knocked down a tree in the Maldives to claim rising sea levels. Maybe we’ll see polar bear clubbing if they continue to hang around like they are now.

Love the polar bear party pic!

This is a good article relating to the drowned polar bears and subsequent investigations. Monnett was obviously trying to get more research funding to feather his own nest!

We can always blame whitey, courtesy of the Grauniad. Richard North mentioned this link on his site.

Here in the states it’s been well documented that 17 of 19 polar bear colonies have INCREASED in population since the global cooling scare of the seventies. I’m sure the govt has paid Monnett a tidy sum to support their agenda….. Joe Schaller

Here is a link to the transcript of a meeting with the inspector general & Monnett, If this is for real then Monnett isnt fit to flip burgers as this is just pathetic.

For the record, on Friday July 29 BOEMRE spokesperson Melissa Schartz in an email to the Alaska Despatch said: “The agency placed Mr. Monnett on administrative leave for reasons having nothing to do with scientific integrity, his 2006 journal article, or issues related to permitting, as has been alleged.” she said.

I wonder how long before the Greens start blaming Jews for the Climate Change. Since Greens are becomming more and more Fascists like in both behaviour and way of thinking it probably will be soon. They already started terrorising Jewish shop keepers.
What a sick bunch of Brown Bob weirdos…..!

Stating the obvious seems to be required on this site:

1. A boycott of Israeli goods is stupid and misguided, but it does not amount to “terrorising Jewish shop keepers”.

2. Bob Brown, for all his faults, does not actually endorse the NSW Greens position. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/victorian-greens-distance-themselves-from-nsw-branchs-israel-boycott/story-fn59niix-1226031927385
