I am a huge Penn and Teller fan. Apart from being some of the best illusionists on the planet, they also have a no-nonsense approach which is refreshingly un-PC.
I saw this video a while ago, but Catallaxy Files have just reposted it, and that was my cue to share it with ACM’s readers. Please be advised that the video contains very bad language – including f*ck, repeatedly. In fact, the third word spoken is f*ck.

I think the one thing that I took from it was that there is so much guilt tied up in mankind’s technical progression. Penn & Teller also reminded me of the fact that 97% of Co2 is produced naturally, man C02 is only 3%. So in effect all this attempted carbon reduction will only ever cut 3% of emissions even if man made emissions were taken back to zero. I wonder if you put it in such plain language that the followers of the eco religion would actually start to get it.
Another way of looking at it is that carbon is being demonised because they can measure it. A bit like speeding for motorists. It has been claimed that inattentiveness is now the reason why most fatal accidents occur, but the Govt cant measure that, so they will maintain its speeding as they can measure it & therefore tax you for going over the limit.
It’s too bad the Weather Channel agrees with real science:

Sorry, they later came out and said that they’ve since changed their stance on Global Warming (as well as secondhand smoke and a few other things). Penn and Teller are helpful sources and very entertaining, but you should always double-check and research something before believing it.
